I am growing hrblogs.org slowly and while I have a large list of what I would like to see on the site time just does not allow for everything in one go. Following this theme I noticed a “review” of sorts on scale|free a week or so ago with some very useful ideas and thoughts. The register your HR blog idea is along the lines of what I did with the HR Bloggers OPML file, I even hacked up a self registration system but did not use it because I could not secure the process from spammers. A couple of the other ideas are in the works and I hope to leverage the work from WPMU community to get these up and going.

I have just added a link to the large OPML file I have on my other site, while right now it has not been updated in a few weeks I plan to add to it very soon, it is still a great place to get going if you want to begin reading some other HR blogs out there.

I am also working on an OPML file for hrblogs and there is a push within the WordPress MultiUser community to have a combined RSS feed for all of the sites hosted on a service, once this is available I will add this as well.

One of the really good things about Wordpress is the easy of changing the way things look via Themes.  Here at hrblogs.org you have a total of 35 different themes to choose from when setting up your blog, a different one for everyday of the month!

Not all of the themes will suit you but if you keep looking I’m sure you will find one that does.  If not and you find one at codex.wordpress.org that you like let me know and I will upload it.

So how do you select a theme?  Goto the Presentation option in the Admin dashboard and click on one!  It is that easy. 

Today I uploaded 10 new themes to take the total count of themes to 35 available to hrblogs users.  I am also looking at the installation of some Plugins that will help expend the functionality of the blogs hosted here.  One of the best plugins I have found for Wordpress is the “Subscribe to Comment via Email” which is a fantastic way of keeping the conversation going.  If you have a favourite plugin or a feature you would like to see drop me a line and I will see what can be done.

Just a short note to let you all know that the import process is not working, I am hoping for a fix over the next few days.  Once it is up and running you should be able to import your old posts from Blogger or MoveableType, etc into hrblogs.
